Insta-Worthy Places in Sandakan, Sabah

Hey guys! I am back!

If you have been my Instagram followers, you should have known that I have visited Sandakan, Sabah last month for 4 days 3 nights, and I have shared a lot of amazing pictures taken during the whole FAM trip on my Instagram page (@immateapot).

Hence, not only sharing on my Instagram page, I have decided to make an Insta-worthy collection right in my blog page too, sharing some pretty spots in Sandakan that are best for pictures.

#1 Kinabatangan River

FYI, Kinabatangan river is the second longest river in Malaysia. During the river cruise session, you may spot wildlife like orangutans, hornbills, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, king fishers and more. You can get a shot of you, yourself sitting at the center of the boat to get that 'Venice shot' LOL. Remember to pair that with a vintage weave hat.

Along the river, we spotted an amazing spot where either side of the river was full of water hyacinth. We decided to travel right at the center, into the water plants for these few spectacular shots.

#2 Gomantong Cave

Gomantong Cave is known for the largest limestone hill in Malaysia that consists of 19 caves, perfect for wildlife sighting.

Leading to the cave, you need to walk for a good 5 to 10 minutes using the wooden walkway. Of course, you may have your photo-shooting session start too while immersing yourself in the great sun shower and the sound of nature.

#3 Bilit Adventure Lodge

Should I said 'a place to get yourself digitally-detox?' I was quite surprised with my very first night staying here as it's totally like 'you're lost'. Yes. in the jungle. No WIFI, no line services, totally getting yourself digitally detached. 

But I pretty much like this place, to get myself a retreat stay-cation, just plainly enjoy the beauty of nature, see the wildlife near the lodge, get closely with your friends and families.

I like the wooden walkway a lot. You guys know I always love symmetrical photographs haha.

To get to the lodge, you may need a 2.5 hours drive from town and crossing the river with boat for about 5 minutes, as it is just right opposite / beside the river.

A birdwatcher's paradise that you may found varieties of bird species, plants, trees and insects.

#4 Agnes Keith's House

A place for artistic photographs. Can't really find any great spots for photos indoor, zero ideas. Let me know if you find it haha.

But I like the overall composition outdoor.

One of my favorite spot. Because it's all about the beauty of architectural building. Am I in somewhere overseas?

A must-visit attraction in Sandakan! A hilltop temple to get a panoramic view of Sandakan bay, the town and Sulu Sea.

Everything is so beautifully sculpted inside.

My Nature Resort

Favorite resort among all the stays. 

Fully made of wood chalet, with air condition, TV and most crucial - WIFI! Super spacious, with a large living room and yes! I love the forest-facing balcony!

#8 San Da Gen Kopitiam

San Da Gen Kopitiam

Tell me! How can you miss out this amazing Kopitiam!

Retro interior, with white color as dominant, marble tables, vintage prints, letting you to drown in the old memories. Not only the amazing interiors, the food is surprisingly good too! We try the nasi lemak,, UFO tart and roti kahwin.

Elsa Bright Laser for Instant Glow and Brightening Skin - ME Aesthetic Clinic

For your information, my skin in real life doesn't look as smooth and flawless as the filter does. I do hope that I have that perfect skin even without putting on any makeup. I thought my biggest skin concerns were big pores and scarring on skin but then I was told that I have dull and uneven skin tone which makes me look ages.

What causes uneven and dull skin?

• Sun: Exposing to UV light may cause the formation of melanin on your skin, appearing spots and uneven skin tone.
• Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation: Result of scarring, caused by acne or even skin injury.
• Aging: All about the age-related spots that form naturally.
• Dead skin cells: Accumulation of dead skin cells that form a 'gray-ish' tint on skin.

I did notice those scarring and spots on my skin that makes me look 5 years older and eventually I decided to have my skin done at ME Clinic. After going through all the treatments and having my consultation with Dr. David, I have opted for 'Elsa Bright Laser'.
Elsa Bright Laser treatment (Q Switch: ND Yag Laser), a non-ablative laser, which means there is no break in skin tissue continuity during the treatment. It targets on pigment cells, as it helps even up and brighten the skin tone, by diminishing pigmentation on skin, leaving the with instant glow. It can be used for tattoo removal too. Beside, this laser helps stimulating the production of collagen in skin, rejuvenate the skin. The best part of this laser will be NO DOWN TIME. It doesn't cause any skin redness, breakouts or even peeling.

Basically, this was the overall treatment.
After having consultation with Dr.David, I was brought into a treatment room for facial cleansing.

After cleansing, the clinic assistant applied numb cream over my face and I was asked to wait for about 10 to 20 minutes. So, basically, the numb cream helps reducing discomfort during the laser treatment.

After the numb cream, Dr. David has started the laser treatment on my skin. Throughout the process, you may smell some burnt-smell, as the laser helps removing your facial hair too! In fact, you won't feel any pain on your skin but some tiny miny tingle sensation which was bearable.

The laser session took about 30 minutes and in order to calm down the tingle sensation, the clinic assistant has applied some cooling gel on my skin. 

And yes, it's super comfortable haha!

The overall treatment took about 1 hour or even less. After the treatment, I was asked to only do the basic skincare regime like cleansing and only apply moisturizer on my skin for a week.

Instant Glow & Brightening Skin

So, this is how my skin looks now, two weeks after the first session of Elsa Bright Laser.

Before treatment, my skin was rough with lots of bumpy texture, more scarring and it looks super dull. 

After treatment, I can feel my skin texture has improved, it is way smoother and I do notice that my skin GLOWS with radiance!

This mask comes in a transparent slight pinkish gel texture, it melts into the skin, appear to be moist liquid texture upon attaching with the skin. After washing off the mask, I feel there is a light protective film on the skin, which gives me a soft and supple touch. Usually, I use this mask as a instant boost before any application of makeup. It works and I don't mind applying a thick layer!

I have tried their 3-in-1 Micellar Milk as well during the launch, too bad it isn't in the press kit :( I really recommend you guys to get that huge bottle because it works multi-functional! As cleanser and makeup remover for face, eyes and lips! I love the texture itself that feels like a toner, pretty dilute and it doesn't leave any trace of stickiness/ greasiness on the skin after the application. Unlike the usual remover or cleansing water, which I really feel the must to rinse off with water, this cleansing milk doesn't! It leaves my skin cleansed, refreshing and soft as in after applying toner LOL.

Unlike the previous moisture products that I have used before, that comes in thick and creamy texture, causes my skin to be sticky and oily over the day. Whereas, this range of products cause none on the above, not oily and greasy at all. I will recommend this range
